- How do you match people?
- So there's that question. Well, truthfully, we believe people match people. That's how it's been since the dawn of time, since cavemen were tugging brides down to the river for some old fashioned snogging. You think Adam and Eve filled out a 30-part personality profile that matched them together using an algorithm or a multi-pronged compatibility machine? Ah, no. We've given you the basic tools, but the rest is up to you. Sure, we've got a love doctor on staff, But quite frankly, the dude is such a major player that he's overwhelmed with his own issues, and rarely has time to sleep, let alone help with the match-making process. And remember all those times a friend or family member said they knew the perfect match for you, but the guy/girl turned out to be a stamp-collecting sociopath who makes dolls with real human hair? Trust us, you're better off on your own.
- How do I meet someone?
- Ahhh, okay. Well, there are so many ways to make this happen, or not happen. Our advice—the reason we created this here website—is to get people off the couch and out from behind the walls so they can fondle one and other publicly, privately, whatever. The point is, there's no short answer to your question. But you can't meet someone if you don't try, if you don't put yourself out there. And don't be afraid, or super-insecure. Nobody likes that. Just strut your stuff, you'll find someone. He/she may not be the toned and tan fantasy partner you ogle over in US Weekly, but for Pete's sake, look past that and get to what matters. Wait, we don't want to mislead, and encourage all our members to go for gold, but the reality is that the hotties aren't always on fire inside. So keep an open mind and start by sending someone a blink. You never know.
- Why should I sign up for this site?
- If you're asking yourself this question, it's likely your issues run deeper than your inability to sign up for a site that doesn't cost a red cent and allows you to peep and possibly romance cuties all over the globe. Might want to check yourself.
- How do I write my profile?
- How the hell should we know. Stop over-thinking the whole shebang, and just pen a couple thoughts about what makes you so fan-freaking-tastical. Might want to use some elementary writing techniques. Start with a simple introduction, like “I'm a renegade lover with a penchant for balloon animals and fresh squeezed juice.” Now I can almost guarantee that you'd see more action in a monastery than if you posted that opening sentence, but hopefully you get the gist. Then try listing some of your best qualities or hobbies. “I play guitar. Electric, not acoustic. I prefer to rock!” And then close it out with some quote or significant thought: “My mother says I am meant to do great things, after I am done with house arrest and the required probationary period that follows.”
- What if there is no icon that fits my personality?
- Now that is impossible. Might as well choose the liar icon and call it a day. Seriously, we know the icons cover broad categories and stimulate sweeping generalizations, but c'mon, for the love of doing a cannonball off the high-dive versus dipping your pinky toe in the pool, just go for it already. But listen, we're open-minded. If you want to challenge years of conceptual development and the rigors of our icon selection process by suggesting a new one, be our guest. Click here and give it your best shot. What's that? You want an “annoying” icon? Done.
- When do I know it's right/safe to meet someone in person?
- Yeah, so we realize there are lots of scary people in the world. And would encourage all our members and humans as a race to take steps to be smart when meeting new people. We recommend very public places (and martial arts classes). Seriously though, just be hip to the decisions you make and be sure you know who you are meeting.
